Frequently Asked Questions
How heavy are these? Can they go into tile or stone? How high should we hang them over an island? We’ve answered the questions we’re asked most often.
Will my ceiling or wall take the load? +
These systems are engineered brass and glass, not lightweight props. We’ll tell your builder exactly where we need hidden ply / blocking or suitable anchors before plaster, tile or stone goes in.
If that ship has sailed, we can usually design a fix — just send photos.
How high should we hang a ceiling-hung unit above a worktop or bar? +
As a guide: 450–600 mm above a kitchen work surface keeps the prep area usable. Over an island or bar counter, 600–750 mm feels airy and gives comfortable head clearance.
We’ll confirm final height once we see ceiling height, bottle height, etc.
Can you mount onto tile / mirror / marble? +
Yes. We regularly mount into tile, polished stone and antique mirror bar backs. We’ll choose the correct fixing approach for that surface and tell you if we need access behind.
How do we clean the brass and glass? +
Wipe brass with a soft microfibre cloth. Do not use abrasive pads. Avoid harsh ammonia cleaners directly on the brass.
For the glass, spray cleaner onto the cloth first, not straight onto the fittings. The glass is low-iron toughened with polished edges, so it will come back crystal clear.
Do the shelving systems come assembled or in kit form? +
As standard, all shelving systems are supplied in kit form for you to fix and assemble on site. Full technical drawings and fixing instructions are provided with every order.
Professional installation from our teams is available at an additional cost across the UK. Please add your specific requirements when you get in touch, and we'll provide a quotation.
Can you install nationwide? +
Yes. We offer full survey and installation across the UK. If you already have a contractor, we can fabricate and ship a complete kit with fixing points marked.
What is the typical lead time? +
A typical two-shelf, 1000 mm wide ceiling-hung unit in warm brass and low-iron glass is usually turned around in a matter of weeks once dimensions are confirmed. Larger multi-bay installs or special finishes may take longer.
Can you colour-match / do a darker finish? +
Warm brass is our signature. We can also produce blackened brass, deep bronze, or satin nickel on request. Send a reference image or finish swatch and we’ll advise.
